In Khamlia, home to descendants of Sudanese slaves, we are greeted with genuine hospitality and invited to enjoy a traditional cup of tea while the hypnotic rhythms of Gnawa music fill the air.

From there, we continue on to a breathtaking panoramic view of the dunes near the Algerian border. There, the desert reveals its timeless beauty as sunlight paints the sands gold. We may stop to visit a nomadic Berber family living in traditional tents and tending their herds of cattle, goats, and camels. Sharing stories and tea with them offers a rare glimpse into their simple and resilient way of life.

Next, we explore the striking landscapes of black volcanic rocks that create a dramatic contrast against the endless sand.

As we approach Yasmina Auberge, the panorama unfolds once more: rolling dunes meet tranquil spring waters, offering a serene and wondrous scene. After taking in these mesmerizing views, we return to the hotel for a relaxing lunch, allowing the magic of the desert to linger in our hearts.
